Verebus

History

Over 75 years ago, at the request of the Royal Navy, the drawing office activities of five leading installation companies were merged. This led to the formation of the VEReenigd Electrotechnisch BUreau voor Scheepsinstallaties: Verebus. From that moment on, Verebus has been responsible for the designs, drawings, and documentation of electrical installations for naval and commercial ships, land-based installations, and aircraft.

At the end of the 20th century, Verebus entered the infrastructure market. As a recognised engineering firm in the field of train safety, Verebus was involved in various projects for ProRail, particularly in the areas of research, design, and supervision. Due to these rail activities, Verebus became part of the TÜV NORD GROUP in 2007. In 2018, the rail department was sold to RoyalHaskoning DHV.

From the 2010s, the focus increasingly shifted towards Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and related services, such as technical documentation. As a result, Verebus became an important partner for the defence industry, both among suppliers and the ministry of Defence itself. Beyond defence, our employees work as project managers and asset managers on technically complex projects in areas such as public transportation, the maritime market, and the energy sector.

Verebus Academy

For sharing all the knowledge that Verebus has acquired over the years, the Verebus Academy was established. Here, anyone, from beginners to advanced learners, can attend one of the courses or training programs in the field of ILS, technical documentation, and S-specifications.

In early 2022, all shares of Verebus were transfered from the TÜV NORD GROUP to the the current director, Pieter van Breugel.
